About us

The school started as its journey on 27th June 1980 as Flamingo Toddlers School with an aim to cater to the primary education of the station.The name of the school changed to Army Primary School in the year on 22 Feb 1992 and the school was granted recognition by the District Education Office on 22 Feb 1992. Later it was re-designated as Army School wef 1st April 1993 and granted recognition by AWES Army HQ. The school got the affiliation from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi wef 1st April 1996. With the addition of subsequent classes the school was upgraded to Secondary Level (Class X) and affiliated to CBSE New Delhi wef April 1999.

The pre-primary wing got separated from Army School on 3rd Nov 2000 with the approval from HQ Southern Command Pune. The school was almost at the verge of closure after the devastating earthquake in the year 2001. But it geared up within a fortnight and started functioning in bamboo huts. From its inception in temporary barracks the school has seen several changes in its infrastructure. From the huts it later moved to temporary building built out of AGs fund (which is presently APPS). The present new building has come up from the Prime Minister Relief Fund and was inaugurated on 19th Nov 2004. The school got its recognition as Army Public School on 15th Aug 2009.
